Are there any additional charges?

Additional fees and charges are payable in addition to the bin hire fee as listed in our “terms and conditions”. For most of our clients there is nothing to worry about. However, for those who conceal hazardous or controlled waste, overfill the bin or not make the bin available for pick up or delivery there will be additional charges for any circumstance beyond our control.

1. If you need the bin longer call us so we don’t waste our time and fuel coming to pick your bin up

2. If you are a builder don’t ask for your bin to be delivered at the same time you have a concrete pump on site, let us know so we don’t waste our time

3. If you are a home owner and you want your bin where your boat is, move it before we get there

4. If you live in a area where there is plenty of trees or power lines, please ensure there is the required clearance to leave the bin safely

5. If you need a machine to get the waste in the bin please read our maximum sized items permitted to prevent damage to the lifter when tipping and operator safety

6. Difficult to manage wastes that are more than 10% of any one skip

7. Ensure you order a bin that will fit your waste safely. Our drivers will not risk their licenses and the safety of all road users for unsafe loads.

What size skip bin will I need for my job?

In general 1 cubic metre is the equivalent of one 6×4 trailer load or approximately four 240lt wheelie bins. If you have eight trailer loads, you will require an 8 cubic metre bin; if you only have one trailer load you will need a 2 cubic metre bin or skip bag.

A machine operator is filling my bin – What do I need to know?

You are responsible for the hire of the bin. Make sure the machines operator DOES NOT: 1) Move the bin 2) Overfill the bin 3) Try to hide material in the bin that is excluded from our hire conditions. Machines operators quite often do things they would not do with their own trucks. Machine operators almost always fill the bin with greens first or try to hide material they know cannot be disposed of in a skip bin. Please advise them of your legal and contractual obligations. Machine operators tip at the same landfill facility we do and know the law – but most will try to bluff you with “she’ll be right” or “we do this all the time”. As the hirer of the skip bin you are the one responsible for any additional fees incurred. Please make sure your machine operator is aware of your skip bin hire conditions.

What can go in the skip bin?

General Waste (furniture, appliances, office waste, plastic, cardboard), Green Waste (tree branches, timber, garden waste, grass clippings) Concrete, tiles and bricks. Heavy waste (soil, rocks, pavers) Soil and dirt
